ATX Strukturbucht - Free Farrowing
In Switzerland, Free Farrowing is widespread and is standard practice in pig farming. Particularly high animal welfare standards, the keeping of pigs with curly tails and Free Farrowing are important here. Piglet crates have been banned in Switzerland since 2007. Pig farmers began to successfully implement Free Farrowing over 20 years ago. Today, the various systems have been tried and tested and Free Farrowing has become established in Swiss pig farming

Let us convince you of our customised solutions and find out how Free Farrowing can revolutionise your pig farming.
Why Free Farrowing?
Free Farrowing offers numerous advantages over traditional farrowing systems. With more freedom of movement and natural behavioural options, you improve the quality of life of your piglets and minimise stress. Discover the advantages of Free Farrowing for sustainable and ethical pig farming.
Pen systems that allow Free Farrowing promise more freedom and therefore more animal welfare for the pig and piglets. This type of housing meets the future legal requirements for farrowing pens. A few days before birth, the pig is driven into the farrowing pen, where she can move freely the whole time. There is no need for the pig to be restrained in a farrowing crate. In the farrowing pen, the pig is not restricted in her freedom of movement either before or during birth or during the suckling period.
Working in the field of Free Farrowing for 15 years
Our many years of experience and intensive involvement with Free Farrowing have led us to the development of the ATX structured pen - the flagship product among movement pens in Switzerland.
The ATX structured pen is characterised by its simple design and a number of important features:
ATX Thermonest
A central element of the pen is the ATX Thermonest, which was the Swiss test winner in the energy consumption category in 2017. It ensures maximum well-being for the piglets and saves energy at the same time.
ATX MuKimat feeding
Widely used since 2010, mother-child feeding enables suckling piglets to learn to eat external feed through the model effect.
ATX triangular stainless steel slats
These gratings are now indispensable and are preferred to conventional grating systems for new builds and conversions. They impress with their long service life and excellent cleanliness thanks to the large manure passage.
Structural walls and heat rejection
A specially developed heat deflector dissipates the heat from the piglet nest into the pen. In combination with constructional measures such as structural walls and lying-down devices, piglet losses are particularly low.
Our greatest concern is to do justice to animal welfare and to support producers in successful and sustainable pig farming.
